What the college says
Students develop a knowledge and understanding of the French culture. What is it all about? Learning a foreign language at AS/A level is about developing high order communication skills. AS & A2 French aims to develop a wide range of linguistic skills through the study of different topic areas relevant to France and French speaking countries such as:- Media / Popular culture / Healthy living / Lifestyle / Family relationships/Environment / Multicultural society / contemporary social issues. Knowledge of French grammar is revised, extended and consolidated during Year 12 in particular. In Year 13 the emphasis is placed on developing high quality language in order to access the higher grades at examination.
