This course is designed to enable you to develop your skills that have already been taught at GCSE through the study of Francophone societies, cultures, literature and cinema. You will be taught, not only to communicate in the language, but also understand a variety of key current issues and be able to debate in high level French. The focus is on providing students with the skills needed to cope with both familiar and unfamiliar language in a meaningful and fulfilling way which will enable you progress to further education or to use in employment. It is not just about learning vocabulary and grammar, but about developing communication, problem solving and analytical skills in a setting which will open your mind to a wide range of concepts and cultural ideas which will not only make you a better candidate in the job market but also a more aware individual in society.

What you need to get on

6th Form entry: The overall 6th Form entry requirements are: a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4, including a grade 9-4 in English. Subject specific entry: GCSE Grade 5 in French

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
