If you have studied French at GCSE and enjoyed speaking the language, you are in a very good position to study French A Level. Here at OSFC you will learn more about the culture of France and French speaking countries through the study of film, books and contemporary history. The core of the course is speaking the language and getting to grips with the grammar in its written form. Your listening skills will also be developed so that your access to and confidence in the language matures quickly. Classes are not conducted completely in French to begin with, but as the time progresses your level of understanding of grammar and vocabulary will encourage your fluency.

What you need to get on

To study A Levels at OSFC you will need a minumum of 5 passes (Grade 4 or better) at GCSE, including a 4 in English and Maths. Grade 6 in GCSE French is required to study this course.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
