A level French AQA COURSE CONTENT & AIMS The A level French course builds on the four key skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing. These skills are developed through a broad area of study, divided into four key themes, focusing on the culture of countries and communities where French is spoken. Students study social and technological change alongside aspects of French - speaking artistic culture. The influence of the past on present day French - speaking countries is also explored. Current social and political issues are examined in the second year of the course. Students undertake an individual research project in the second year, to be discussed in the oral exam and will also study a film and a text. The aim of the course is to develop the students’ technical French and to help them develop into confident communicators who have a sound understanding of French culture.
