Have you ever wondered how crime scene investigators solve real-life cases? The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Forensic Investigation gives you the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of forensic science and learn how scientific techniques are used to investigate crime.On this course, you will study a range of topics that combine biology, chemistry and investigative skills to help you understand how evidence is collected, analysed and presented. You will learn how forensic scientists examine fingerprints, DNA, fibres, blood patterns and other forms of evidence to piece together what happened at a crime scene.Throughout the programme, you will take part in practical investigations, simulated crime scenes, laboratory work and case studies, helping you develop the same scientific and analytical skills used by professionals in the field. You will also learn about the criminal justice system, the role of forensic laboratories, and how evidence is presented in court.
