What the college says

This course is your first step on the ladder to becoming a football coach. The first year will give you the foundations to progress as a coach helping you to understand the coaching process and improve confidence in leading a session. You will have the chance to gain real life experience working in local schools. This one year course will lead to 2 qualifications: Level 1 Award in Principles of Coaching Football and the Level 1 NCFE Certificate in Sport.

What you need to get on

You will need to be at least 16 before 1st September on the year of entry. You need to have a passion for football coaching and working with young people and a keen interest in progressing into a career in football coaching. You will be asked to provide a reference letter from your previous school or club that demonstrates your suitability to start the course.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
