Applicants should be employed in, or interested in, a career working as an Engineer in the fire, security & emergency systems sector. The programme is suitable for those working as engineers installing & maintaining electronic security and fire detection/emergency systems. In addition to the core knowledge, skill and behaviour requirements, apprentices must choose one of the following options: Fire only, Security only or Fire & Security combined Elements of the programme include: Understand the relationship of fire detection & security alarms to the fire & security industry, the methods of surveying new & existing systems. The Planning & project management for systems installation, commissioning & handover. The preventative & corrective maintenance of fire detection & alarm systems, emergency systems & components, Intruder & hold up alarms, Access Control, video surveillance (CCTV) & other security systems. Apply & implement system design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning & handover. Carry out preventative & corrective maintenance, diagnosis & repair faults, of fire detection & alarm, & other emergency systems & components, Intruder & holdup alarms, Access Control, video surveillance (CCTV) & other electronic security systems & components.
What you need to get on
The entry requirement for this apprenticeship will be decided by each employer. Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 1 English and Maths and to have taken level 2 English and Maths tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship. We will support with achieving this. An ECS card is required by the end of the programme (this can be facilitated by SfS)
