Students develop a knowledge and understanding of Art. The Art course offers well motivated students the opportunity to develop creative and practical skills. Students are encouraged to produce and research their own ideas; experiment with new media and processes; develop visual awareness and personal creative skills; learn about other artists past and present; establish a portfolio of work and achieve success. It is intended to meet the need of the following students:- those who will undertake further studies in Art those who will study subjects or take up careers for which a background Art is relevant to; those who having an interest in, and aptitude for the subject, but are not intending to undertake further studies in Art and Design. Throughout the course there will be opportunities to visit local galleries and work with visiting artists.

Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.
