Film Studies is designed to deepen your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of film. You will study film as a medium, art form and as a social and economic institution. The course will develop skills of observation, critical analysis and personal reflection. You will engage with a wide variety of films. Assessment: AS level FM1: Coursework (40%) Micro Analysis, Practical Application of Learning, FM2: Examination (60%) Film Industry, British Film, US Film. A2 level FM3: Coursework (50%) Small scale research project, Practical Application of Learning, FM4 Examination (50%) World cinema, Spectatorship, Close Study Film.
What you need to get on
Grade 5 or above in English Language.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
