If you’re a dedicated film viewer who wants to understand how film functions as an art form, then this is the course for you. You will develop skills of analysis by exploring a wide range of mainstream and independent American and British films, as well as significant examples of world cinema. Emphasis is placed upon visual storytelling and technical film language, and you will have the opportunity to put your ideas and knowledge in these areas of study into practice by making your own short film.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 GCSEs with a grade 4 (grade C) or above in English.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
