Do you love films? Do you want to spend all your lessons talking about films, watching films and writing about films? Do you want to learn how to make your own films, or maybe you do already and want to learn how to take it to the next level? You came to the right place - we do all of that right here! The Film A Level specification is designed to deepen your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of film; it is the major art form of the twentieth century, and one developing new modes of expression and exhibition in the first decades of the twenty-first century. The specification builds on the cineliteracy that we have been developing since childhood. You will engage with a wide range of different kinds of films, developing skills of observation, critical analysis and personal reflection, as well as developing your creativity and practical film-making skills.

What you need to get on

GCSE English Language or Literature grade 6 or higher and preferably GCSE Media Studies or Film Studies grade 6 OR BTEC Level 2 Creative Digital Media Production at Merits or higher.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
