The BTEC Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services course is suitable for enthusiastic individuals who are looking for employment in one of the Uniformed Protective Services. This course can be completed over one or two years; with different sizes of programme available to suit a range of needs. On the course you will be required to complete theory and practical work which will contribute to your final grade. The course is aimed at people who are looking to gain entry into the services or Uniformed Protective Services based university courses. Throughout your time on the course you will have the opportunity to speak to external speakers from different services. You will also be developing your understanding of service behaviour and requirements alongside working towards fitness requirements. You will be required to attend College 3 days a week and will be expected to carry out an extensive amount of home study in order to complete assignment work, revise and complete homework tasks. The course is 25% practical and 75% theory and assessment methods include; projects, assignments, case studies, course work, practical performance reviews and exams.
What you need to get on
To study this course you must have 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or higher, including English or Maths OR a related Level 1 qualification PLUS grade D/3 or higher in English or Maths. All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional Skills English and Maths qualifications or GCSE English and Maths if not already awarded a grade C/4 or higher.
