The Edexcel AS in French has been developed to inspire all students who have an appreciation of the language, literature, film and culture of the French-speaking world. The course allows you to develop a more advanced understanding and knowledge of both the language and culture, as well as practical and valuable language and transferable study skills. This will help to prepare you for higher education and enhance your employability profile.

What you need to get on

The minimum entry requirements are the best 8 GCSE grades, totalling 38 or higher. For example, two Grade 6s, two Grade 5s, and four Grade 4s. Students also need to have secured a Grade 4 GCSE in both English and Mathematics; and a grade 6 in GCSE French.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
