This is an introductory course for those with an interest in business that will provide you with the knowledge, understanding, and skills of the different elements of a business environment. Whatever career direction you choose to follow there will be elements of business across a range of sectors, and you will learn about the theoretical concepts and professional practice used across industry as a whole. Studying this course will also give you the potential opportunity to progress to further study at Level 3, or to progress to employment in a wide range of job roles across the business sector. On successful completion of this course, you will have achieved the Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Business.

What you need to get on

To be accepted onto the course, you will need a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, one of which must be maths, as well as a Grade 4 in English Language.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
