Our Level 2 Health and Social Care programme is a perfect introduction for those seeking a career in the sector. You will develop an understanding of health & social care and science, and apply this knowledge when undertaking work experience. You will build a great set of practical skills in our fully equipped classrooms, which mirror clinical and care environments. You will study a range of units with topics in health, including: human lifespan development, effective communication, health & social care values You will also study a range of units with topics in science, including: human biology, barriers to health, infection and immunity. You will also undertake a work placement in a clinical or care setting where you will develop your practical skills. You will complete written work throughout the year. You will also sit externally set exams. On successful completion of the programme you will gain a BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care and a OCN Level 2 in Skills for Further Study in Health and Human Sciences. All students wear a uniform available to order through our uniform partners. You might also wish to purchase the text books associated with the programme.You will be undertaking a study programme with the Health & Social Care/Science element being one part, you will also undertake English and/or maths if you do not achieve a grade 4. You will also have group tutorial and be expected to undertake a work placement.
