What the college says
The course is designed for learners who have been out of the classroom for a period of time and may need to secure their maths and English at Level 2/ GCSE before moving on to a Level 3 course. The course would be suitable for anyone wanting to begin their journey to work in work in a variety of fields within the health or social care industry. This includes but is not limited to nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, paramedic science or social work. Funding for the course is available for all 19-23 year olds with a previous full Level 2 qualification and funding is in place for all learners aged 24+ with or without a previous Level 2 qualification.
What you need to get on
There are no formal qualifications needed. Suitability for the course will be determined at interview.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
