What the college says
Level 1 will suit you if you can read, write, speak and listen quite confidently but want to be able to understand and communicate less familiar and more varied information. There are three parts to the qualification: Speaking and listening Writing Reading. You can get a qualification in Speaking and listening on its own. Or you can take all three parts as one qualification. The Reading test can either be taken on paper (304) or online (983). Up to two of the three parts can be taken at Level 2.

ESOL Skills for Life is for anyone living in the UK whose first language isn't English. There are options for people whose English is at different levels and for those who want to improve their English for work or study.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
