English Literature and Language Combined is one of the new A Levels being taught this year that will be examined at the end of the two years. There is also an alternative option to do a stand-alone AS Level that can be incorporated into the first year of the two year A Level. This is how we will be teaching and assessing at Hampton College.
What you need to get on
A genuine interest in and commitment to English Literature or Language is essential. You must enjoy reading for pleasure, discussing texts and be a fluent and able writer. It will be expected that you have achieved at least a strong GCSE Grade C in English and English Literature, although a B grade is preferable.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
