A-Level English Literature builds on the skills, knowledge and understanding established at GCSE. It is a rigorous and demanding course which develops your analytical technique. To be successful at English Literature you have to enjoy reading both widely and independently. The course explores reading processes in an interesting and enriching way. We offer English Literature which is a two year course.

What you need to get on

You will need at least a grade 7 in English Language or English Literature at GCSE. You will need to demonstrate that you are eager to analyse a range of texts which aim to ‘stretch and challenge.’ You will also be asked to compare texts and consider different interpretations.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
