What the college says

Welcome you to the world of literature through the ages. A Level is a universe apart from GCSE English. Through the study of poetry, drama and prose spanning several centuries, students will apply post-colonial criticism to Shakespeare’s ‘Tempest’ and delve deep in to the twisted, demented worlds of the gothic or dystopian. Students will expand their horizons from feminist movements of recent history to political representations through time. By combining a flourishing knowledge of the world around them with sharp analytical skills and technical knowledge of language, students will write adeptly and succinctly –developing skills for the rest of their lives, across all spheres of study or work. This course will challenge, inspire and motivate the critically and creatively minded, and ignite their passion for the world of words. We welcome all lovers of literature!
