This course gives you the opportunity to develop as a reflective reader and writer, exploring the relationship between language and literature, and developing writing for a range of audiences and purposes. You will study a post-1900 drama text, a play by Shakespeare, a novel, some non-fiction and some poetry. You will also develop your creative writing skills in a specific genre of your choice, using your reading to help improve your writing. Assessment 80% examination, 20% coursework Poetry and prose fiction Shakespeare and post-1900 drama Non-literary texts (studied and unseen) Critical and creative genre study (coursework)
