What the college says
This one year course is challenging and fast-paced. This is a great way to increase your current grade. You will learn how to better analyse language use in a variety of contexts in terms of word choice, sentence choice, structure, exploring the connections they have to aspects of context (i.e. purposes, audience and other influences). You will also learn how to better construct language in a variety of creative and practical contexts and generally improve the quality and accuracy of written expressions. There are also opportunities to develop the use of oral English in a variety of contexts.

Specific GCSE: Grade 3 in English Language or English GCSE
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
