A GCSE in English is vital in today's job market and a minimum requirement for many courses. This course is designed to develop confidence and competence in speaking and listening, reading and writing skills. It will also help improve your grammar, spelling and punctuation, encourage active reading and develop your ability to write for different audiences and purposes.
What you need to get on
You need to undertake a BKSBassessment and score at least level 2 in order to enrol on this course. You will be asked to do a piece of writing.If you score below level 2 we have a wide range of courses to prepare you to progress onto this course.--The course is free to all adults who do not previously have a GCSE English A*-C.
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
