What the college says
The study of English Language at A level encourages students to develop their interest in and enjoyment of English, through learning about its structures and its functions, its development and its variations. It also allows students to develop their ability to analyse data and express themselves both in speech and writing with increasing competence and sophistication. The main focus of AQA’s course is the close study of key aspects of language use: these include stylistic analysis of texts, language in its social context, child language acquisition and language change.
