The English Language and Literature course offers choice and flexibility if you're unsure whether to choose Language or Literature as a single A Level. The specification will enable you to see how linguistic and literary methods are related and how to explore these links in your own work. You will explore 'imagined' worlds and 'poetic voices' through the medium of storytelling, alongside writing about society, evaluating your own writing and exploring conflict within drama. Examinations test your analytical and creative ability, as well as giving you an opportunity to carry out a personal investigation that explores a specific technique or theme in both literary and non-literary discourse.
