The apprenticeship is primarily delivered at college on day release and the apprentice will have regular workplace visits with an assessor. An apprentice will understand the common arc welding processes joint types such as fillet lap butt etc. in different positions. Identify and understand the causes of typical welding defects and how their occurrence can be reduced for the materials and welding processes selected.
