Students will learn the key knowledge, skills and behaviours including Engineering design, materials and hand skills. The course covers essential elements of both theory and practical to give the fundamental knowledge and skills to help to identify next steps into this diverse and rapidly changing career path. Throughout the course students will gain valuable practical experience and learn how to promote themselves in the job market. They will also learn various core skills in teamwork, communication, digital skills and problem solving. Units of study include: Unit 101 - Working in Engineering: � Health & Safety including employer and employee rights and responsibilities with in the workplace � Environmental impact of industry and work practices � Maintaining working relationships � Sectors in Engineering � Key Engineering materials � Engineering Information Technology Unit 102 - Hand Fitting � Using Engineering information and practical skills to manufacture engineering components using a variety of industry standard tools and equipment Unit 115 � CAD and Technical Drawing � Understanding the concepts of conveying and interpreting technical information using industry recognised technical drawing skills. � Using CAD software and manual techniques to create technical drawings Students will also continue with core studies Maths and English until they achieve a Grade 4 in each.

What you need to get on

Achieve GCSE grade 3 or above in English Language and maths. Achieve an additional 2 GCSE's at grade 2 or above.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
