What the college says

Aimed at School Leavers. These level 1 engineering courses will develop practical engineering skills including bench fitting, maintenance, machining and automotive. The course is delivered over one year and is predominately practically based. It also includes the development of a portfolio of evidence and the development of basic maths and science used in engineering. You will also study topics such as Health and Safety and Housekeeping.The programme will allow learners to develop work related skills in preparation for further training or employment.

What you need to get on

4 GCSEs at grades 9-2 including English Language and Maths. At Riverside, we look at the overall GCSE profile. A student on a Level 1 course should have achieved 9-2 grades in their GCSEs. English Language 2. Maths 2. Science Ideally 9-3. Also New spec. for 2017

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
