What the college says
This course includes theoretical learning on scientific principles, and on health and safety requirements. You will learn the practical skills required to install wiring systems to recognised standards, and to be able to inspect and test wiring systems. It is good preparation for students intending to find an apprenticeship to complete their training.
What you need to get on
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English and maths at grade 4.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
