What the college says

Anyone intending to pursue health, fitness or sports-related occupations in the future such as recreation management, sports development, coaching, instructing or teaching. It allows you to explore sport both theoretically and as a performer. The equivalent of 1.5 A levels you would generally study it full time for 1 year. You'll get transferable skills such as teamwork, leadership and resilience that are useful for a variety of careers and higher education courses.

What you need to get on

Ideally five GCSE subjects at Level 4 or above. A Pass at Level 2 in BTEC Level 2 First Award, a Level 4 or above at GCSE PE should be achieved to ensure students have enough knowledge to engage fully in the course. It would also be to their advantage to gain a Level 4 or higher in science due to the nature of the externally assessed examination unit.
