What the college says
This one-year Level 2 qualification is for adults who want to work with children between birth and five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years. The course aims to help you understand what makes good quality childcare. The course covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas including early years and social care, so you'll develop the skills you need to support you to progress onto Level 3 qualifications across a number of sectors.
What you need to get on
You will need 4 GCSEs at minimum grade 3 including English and maths, or Functional Skills Level 1 in English and maths.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
