What the college says

This one-year course at Barnet and Southgate College is for young people aged 16?18 or up to 25 with an EHCP. We have smaller groups with extra support and staff who will provide guidance and specialised teaching. This is perfect if you need to spend some more time working on maths, English, project work, problem solving and communication. You might have an EHCP or know that you prefer smaller classes with more support. This is an ideal course to get used to the college environment. You will be able to spend lunch and break times independently. There will be opportunities to take part in a range of different types of exercise and fitness activities and consider their own health needs and will learn about factors that affect health. Within the Move Up Course you will build communication skills and confidence. There is a full set of qualifications to take you forward. You will have a positive attitude towards learning and be able to take part in pair and small group work.

What you need to get on

There are no formal entry requirements. At interview we will see that you can communicate effectively and are able to take part in class work.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A supported starting point if exams have not gone well yet.
