What the college says

This course is an excellent introduction to the art and skills required to become a professional dog groomer. You will work with a variety of dogs in our well-equipped dog grooming parlour learning to correctly and safely restrain and handle dogs whilst preparing bathing combing and carrying out basic trimming.

What you need to get on

There are no formal entry requirements but you must be sufficiently fit to lift and handle large dogs and demonstrate sufficient literacy skills to complete a portfolio of evidence and sit an on-line test.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
