The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing (QCF) is a qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed hairdresser/stylist. It has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills to an advanced level in various technical areas, including: colour correcting, creative cutting, long hair work and hair extensions. Applicants to this course should have successfully completed a Level 2 Hairdressing course.The aim of the course is to make you competent and confident in advanced hairdressing skills, making you highly employable within the industry. You will learn the practical skills of each unit and gain further experience in client care, learning how to operate within relevant health and safety guidelines. You will be working in a commercial salon environment, on fee paying clients (subject to Covid regulations), gaining experience of dealing with a wide range of clients.
What you need to get on
You should hold a level 2 qualification in hairdressing or equivalent. Good standard of English GCSE A-C/4-9 is advisable. If aged under 19 and do not have GCSE A-C/4-9, it is a funding requirement to attend additional English and/or Maths classes. It is also desirable to have related qualifications at Level 2 and 3, such as customer services or retail. You should also have good communication skills and ideally be working in a salon environment already (subject to Covid regulations).
