What the college says
The Level 1 Diploma in Plastering is a practical starter course that builds safe working habits and core trade skills. You will learn health and safety, PPE, tool use and care, basic materials and mixing, and substrate preparation, then practise applying base and finish coats, skimming small areas, forming neat corners and edges, fixing small beads, and making simple patch repairs. Training takes place in well equipped workshops with industry experienced tutors, and assessment combines short knowledge tests, observed practical tasks, and a small synoptic project with portfolio evidence. On completion, you can progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Plastering or a related Apprenticeship and move toward entry level roles as a plastering improver.
