What the college says

The Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating is a hands on, employer aligned course that builds professional speed, accuracy, and finish quality for real site and domestic work. You will learn thorough surface preparation, confident brush and roller techniques, wallpapering with pattern matching and corners, and a range of decorative finishes, with optional spray application where available. The programme strengthens product knowledge across primers, emulsions, oils, water based systems, wood, metal, and masonry coatings, plus safe use of access equipment and workspace protection. Training takes place in realistic workshops with industry experienced tutors, and assessment combines online knowledge tests, observed practical tasks, and a synoptic project delivered to specification. On completion, you can progress to an Apprenticeship, or move into employment with contractors, maintenance teams, heritage projects, or specialist finishing companies.
