What the college says

This course is a Technical Level qualification that provides you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work as a make-up artist within a variety of settings. On successful completion, students may consider pursuing a career in beauty salons, photographic studios, theatres and film studios, hospitals and care homes, cruise liners and health spas. Students will also be able work as an independent, self-employed or mobile make-up artist. Please note that students studying A levels at our Sixth Form campus can study this course alongside their A levels (2 year course). Please select as a subject choice when completing your application to the Sixth Form College.

What you need to get on

No previous knowledge required but a good standard of English is essential, as well as the ability to work with others and as part of a team. If aged under 19 and do not have GCSE A-C/4-9, it is a funding requirement to attend additional English and/or Maths classes. It is also desirable to have related qualifications at Level 2 in Beauty or Hairdressing. Applicants should also have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
