Are you a recent school leaver wanting to learn to become a carpenter or joiner? Carpenters are in short supply in the industry, they are in demand and are an integral part of any building firm. This Level 1 carpentry course teaches the fundamentals through hands-on, practical learning, perfect for those passionate about the construction industry and aspire to master a specialised trade. Under the guidance of our expert tutors with industry standard workshops at our Bournville (Longbridge) campus, you'll not only acquire essential woodworking knowledge but also practical skills. The course covers a range of skills for wood related crafts. Through hands-on, practical learning, it will prepare you for further learning or entering employment in construction or bench joinery.

What you need to get on

No formal entry requirements. Evidence of previous work or a commitment to study may be required. Work experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
