What the college says
This qualification is designed for learners at 16+ that have a strong desire and passion to work within the hairdressing industry. Learners that are enthusiastic about learning how to cut, colour and style hair and work well in communication based environments.
What you need to get on
No previous Hairdressing qualifications are required to enable you to start on a level 2 Hairdressing qualification. This qualification forms part of the standard you will undertake, therefore GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English are advantageous when it comes to doing Functional Skills, however they aren’t a requirement. You will be employed in a salon placement for a minimum of 30 hours You will also be required to complete the (COVID-19) Infection Prevention qualification
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
