An ideal programme if you are considering a career in the Uniformed Public Services, especially in the Armed Forces or the Emergency Services. The programme will help you gain a deeper knowledge of careers in the services as well as develop the key skills and qualities needed. The programme is underpinned by the development of your leadership, teamwork and communication skills while you investigate specific topics through a range of different units. The programme is nationally recognised and provides you with the equivalent of 1.5 A-Levels and the opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services, which is the equivalent of 3 A-Levels. This programme attracts UCAS points (Range 24-84). You will learn about a variety of topics related to careers in the Uniformed Public Services, including physical fitness, leadership, teamwork, equality, diversity and inclusion, map reading, conflict management, emergency planning and response, discipline and outdoor and adventurous activities. Although the majority of study is theory, the course is designed to be as practical as possible and will include a number of visits and outdoor exercises You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods, all of which are aimed at a more vocational method of study.
