This qualification is intended for those wanting to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the electrical industry. You will study the following units: Health and Safety Communication within Building Services Engineering Principles of Electrical Science Installation of Wiring Systems and Enclosures Electrical Installations Technology. Youll practice your skills in our well equipped workshops, and be guided on your next steps by our industry experienced tutors. Well also help you to improve your English and maths skills too - theyre so important in the industry so you can communicate with others, and cost for materials and projects! Your industry placement will be key to learning more about the industry, as well as practicing the skills youve learnt in College in a real life setting. This qualification is assessed through online exams and practical work You will need to purchase College uniform which is available at a discounted price through our uniform partners. You will also need to purchase protective boots, a scientific calculator, 18th Edition On Site Guide, a notebook (to take notes) and basic stationery.
What you need to get on
Four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and maths. GCSE Science at grade 4 would be advisable, but is not essential.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
