This qualification is ideal if you want to develop and extend your digital and IT skills to prepare for different roles in the digital and creative industries, such as software and programming, network support and digital design. The course covers a number of digital areas. The qualification is also designed for job roles in other industries where specific digital and IT skills are required, such as finance, marketing, machining and manufacturing. The qualification includes a mandatory unit along with optional units that relate directly to the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers and cover a wide range and use of different digital technologies, systems and software.
What you need to get on
Level 1 qualification or Two GCSEs at grade 3 including a grade 3 in either maths or English.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
