What the college says

The Certificate in Digital & IT Skills is a part-time course for students aged 19yrs and over that runs for 36 weeks starting once a year in September. It is designed for adults who want to develop and extend their digital skills to prepare for employment in a number of industries including the digital and creative industries. With this course you will gain the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the digital age. It is a daytime course with one 3-hour lesson each week held in-person at our Ipswich Road campus, with additional home study required.

What you need to get on

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, but a reasonable knowledge of IT skills is expected. An initial assessment will be undertaken to determine suitability. If you feel that you are not ready for this course but want to take it in the future, we would recommend that you look to complete Digital Functional Skills at Entry Level 3/Level 1 as a stepping stone to prepare for this course if your Digital skills require improvement. These are 18 weeks long so it would be possible

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
