This course is aimed to build on students' technical skills and give them an insight into the professional dance world. It focuses on the key areas of industry production, performance and administration and it is assessed through both practical and written coursework. Unit 1: Exploring Skills for Performance (Compulsory) Unit 2: Planning for an Event (Compulsory) Unit 3: Performing to a Commission (Compulsory) Unit 4: Employment Opportunities in the Performing Arts (Compulsory) Unit 5: Advanced Performance Practice (Optional) OR Unit 6: Advanced Production Practice (Optional) Unit 7: Production Delivery (Compulsory)

What you need to get on

If a student has completed GCSE Dance, Level 6 or above is required. However, GCSE is not a prerequisite although students should have at least a year's experience of dance. Throughout this course students will have to demonstrate the ability to work both individually and in a team. This course is aimed to build on students' technical skills and give them an insight into the professional dance world. It focuses on the key areas of industry production, performance and administration and it is assessed through both practical and written coursework.
