This course is suitable for those who prefer to be assessed through a combinaton of practical assessments and examinations during year 13. Dance is good for both body and soul. It is an amazing workout, a great way of expressing yourself, an effective method for relieving stress and, most importantly, it is fun. As well as providing you with an opportunity to develop as a dancer and choreographer, a dance A-Level will allow you to study the theory of dance, developing your analytical, evaluative and communication skills.

What you need to get on

If you are completing a dance qualification you must achieve a grade 5. If you are not, then you will need to have attended extracurricular dance training and you will need to audition. You should also achieve minimum of a grade 4 in English literature or language.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
