Whether you have thought about it or not, Design is part of everyday life. We use millions of products to make our lives easier and it is the role of the Designer to provide solutions to our problems. The first year of the GCE course will be spent developing the skills and knowledge necessary to design and make products suitable for the Design Market. You will explore and develop ideas and learn the correct 3D processes needed to create pieces of work. During the second year of the course you will focus on how to build on the skills you have developed and explore your knowledge of production.

What you need to get on

Entry into the Sixth Form requires six passes at GCSE Level (Grades 9-5) including English and at least a Grade 4 in Maths. This course requires GCSE Grade 5 in one of the Design Technology subject areas.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
