Criminology is the scientific study of crime and criminals. It is a multi-disciplinary approach that draws together methods and perspectives from a range of social sciences, including sociology and psychology.The Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Principles of Criminology is designed to provide you with an effective experience in developing study skills and the initial stages of learning about the discipline in terms of the concepts, theories and perspectives which characterise criminology. This course is usually studied together with our Psychology Level 2 course. The course is based either in person or online.For our online based course:It can be accessed from the comfort of your own home.All the resources you will need can be accessed, at a time to suit you, using our Virtual Learning Environment.There are no delivered sessions however you will be supported by an experienced and dedicated psychology lecturer who you can contact for support throughout the duration of your course.For our classroom-based course:It will be taught from our Paignton CampusAll the resources you will need can be accessed during the delivered sessions on-site.There are delivered sessions on-site where you will be supported by an experienced and dedicated psychology lecturer who you can contact for support throughout the duration of your course.This course is an excellent first step to progression to a range of further and higher education courses and toward a career within the social sciences.
