The Creative Industries sector is an exciting place to be. New emerging technology helps the industry to produce media on a worldwide platform from the Harry Potter films to Grand Theft Auto games, media is the most exciting and fastest growing sector in the UK. This course is for you if you like films, television, journalism and games and like to get hands on making creative content. You’ll develop new skills planning radio shows and film productions and then get hands on using high spec equipment to film and edit products. You’ll learn about creative and digital marketing including branding, advertising and social media and learn the importance of narrative and storytelling. You’ll develop your digital design and production skills, using industry standard software packages including the full Adobe Creative Suite.

Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including GCSE English and maths A good example of coursework or practical experience in media/multimedia A successful interview and work shop

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
