Creative Arts: Drawing for Everyone - Learn to Draw
at Croydon London Borough Council, Croydon · local authority
What the college says
Over the next 10 weeks you will learn about drawing and toning skills following the grid method. Your tutor will explain and demonstrate how to implement the grid method in your approach to drawing and there will be practise exercises before you undertake a drawing of your choice, based on your own personal ability level and area of interest in regards to genre. In the doing of this you will have learnt how to scale up a picture and enlarge from its original size. Once your drawing is completed, you will be guided as to which tonal and mark making techniques complement your idea, introducing light and dark shading range to complete the piece of art. The grid method is a technique that has been used for centuries in art that involves dividing an image into a series of smaller, more manageable sections using a grid framework. This is a fun course whereby the visual outcomes will speak positive volumes in regards to any preconceived perceptions of creative ability and will challenge these notions for the better!!
