Studying at the Rodbaston College gives you access to a diverse and vibrant rural estate with a multitude of habitats including woodland, wetland, grassland, ponds, lakes, canal, formal gardens and farmed areas. We are also local to many country parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty such as Cannock Chase, which add an extra dimension to trips and practical sessions. A balanced approach to practical skills and scientific understanding will put you at the forefront of the fight to improve not only local but also national and even international ecosystems, all backed up and taught by staff who have a wide breadth of experience and knowledge gained in this dynamic and interesting sector. Taught sessions may start inside the classroom but often break out into the great outdoors and with dedicated practical sessions, skills are developed at a rapid pace to engage and enthuse. What you need to get on

To study at Level 3, you need at least 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, or equivalent qualifications. If you’re 19+, you may qualify for free study under the Government’s Free Courses for Jobs scheme if unemployed or earning under £25,000. For ages 19–23, this applies only if it’s your first Level 3 qualification. Funding rules may change, so check current eligibility.
